Module Description
Circular Economy (CE) is one of the key topics in the EU agenda due to its huge business potential (estimated at 1.3 trillion/euro per year in Europe alone (Ellen MacArthur Foundation - EMF)). Defined as “an economy that provides multiple value creation mechanisms, which are decoupled from the consumption of finite resources” (EMF), CE links innovation, leadership, sustainability and technology, towards enhanced competitiveness, economic growth and sustainability performance. Many leading companies are already engaged in the transition towards Circular Economy, which requires a systemic change in the way companies understand and do business (at the strategic, tactical and operational levels), with sustainability as a strong foundation.

But are you ready to the transition to CE? Does your company have the necessary knowledge, skills and strategy for CE? This module will help you to find out what needs to be done to a successful transition.

Here are some of the questions this module will explore:

  • What is Circular Economy (CE) and what are the business opportunities linked to CE?
  • How are B2B and B2C companies making the transition and how to map opportunities for CE at your company (e.g. product as a service, predictive maintenance, remanufacturing)?
  • How to calculate the business case and what are the key dimensions for CE implementation?
  • How ready is your company for implementing CE?
  • How to develop a prioritized roadmap towards Circular Economy?
  • Who should be involved in the implementation of CE?

The module will address the stated questions and provide some insights to inspire you to build your own solutions.
