Jes Broeng

Jes Broeng · From Idea to Opportunity
Jes Broeng is serial high-tech entrepreneur, photonics scientist and professor at the Technical University of Denmark, DTU. He has a Ph.D. and M.Sc. from DTU and is author and co-author of more than 200 publications, 1 textbook, and 18 patents. Jes Broeng’s research interests include business and leadership areas of entrepreneurship, innovation and technology transfer, and scientific areas of optics, photonics and communications. He has extensive experience in applied research, early high-tech business development, IPR and licensing, and high-tech sales (US, Europe, and Asia). Dr. Broeng is a member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences and a Fellow of SPIE (the international society for optics and photonics) and has served on the committee of several international conferences. Dr. Broeng was awarded the European Optics Prize in 1999 and DTU’s Innovation Award in 2016.

Thomas J. Howard

Thomas Howard · From Idea to Opportunity

Thomas is an Associate Professor in Engineering Design, with research specialization in Design for Quality and Robustness. In 2014 Thomas won the DTU Innovation prize for his approaches and teaching related to Technology Entrepreneurship and Open Innovation. Thomas is now the CTO of spin-out company MASH Biotech ApS and runs a large innovation network and ecosystem around technology entrepreneurship. In 2013 he became the youngest elected member of the Design Society Advisory Board and holds a position as visiting faculty at UC Berkeley and Distinguished chair at CETYS University.


Joanne Hyland

Joanne Hyland · From Opportunity to Experiment – From Experiment to Venture 
Joanne Hyland is Founding Partner and President of the rInnovation Group as well as former Vice President, New Venture Development, at Nortel Networks. There, she, with her innovation team, founded the internal venturing program, a multi-million dollar investment fund that led to 12 business start-ups, one of which reached a billion dollar exit in October 2008.  Joanne is now working with major corporations to link new business development, venturing and innovation initiatives with strategy, systems, leadership and culture requirements to drive growth and corporate renewal.  The rInnovation Group’s client list includes BASF, Bekaert, Bosch, Danfoss, Evonik, Grundfos, HP, LM Wind Power, Moen, NOVA Chemicals, Novozymes, Shell, Tetra Pak, Vestas and Westinghouse, among others. Joanne speaks regularly on topics related to innovation and corporate entrepreneurship and has been a member of the faculty or guest speaker in executive education programs at Babson College, DTU, MIT, Motorola University, RPI, Stanford University, the Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC) and the Industrial Research Institute.  She is a featured executive in the book ‘Radical Innovation: How Mature Companies Can Outsmart Upstarts’, (HBS Press, 2000).  She is a co-author of ‘Pivot: How Top Entrepreneurs Adapt and Change Course to Find Ultimate Success’, (Wiley, October 2013). In March 2015, Joanne became a member of the ISPIM (International Society for Professional Innovation Management) Advisory Board.

Hamish Scott

Hamish Scott · Implementation
Hamish is a specialist in business strategy. He advises on processes for strategy formulation and implementation and is particularly interested in how strategy gets turned into action. Hamish is a visiting professor at DTU, and holds similar positions in Brussels and London. He also holds fractional director positions in professional services firm, Grant Thornton, and in Peel, a £5bn infrastructure company operating airports, ports, renewable energy activities and largescale property development projects. Hamish has served as senior faculty at Ashridge Business School, and led numerous customized development programs for large corporate clients worldwide. He continues to work with a number of corporate clients on executive development and strategic change initiatives. In his 30-year career, Hamish has worked in a range of disciplines - from marketing management to corporate M&A to general management to Board-level strategist. This first-hand experience has equipped him to specialize in how business strategies get turned into action.

Stephan Schubert

Stephan Schubert · From Venture to Business
Stephan is a faculty member of Ashridge Business School, as well as an Adjunct Professor of Strategy at INSEAD - a world leading business school. He has worked on client assignments in 30 countries and travels regularly to the Gulf Region, where he directs and delivers strategy workshops and executive development programs for a variety of private and public sector clients. Clients he has worked with include McKinsey's London office, Vodafone, Air China, Lufthansa, Philips and a range of national oil companies across the Middle East and Africa. At DTU Business he also teaches on the Executive MBA (MMT) and on the "Managing for Growth" program.

Richard Bliss

Richard Bliss · Financials for the Internal Venture 
Dr. Bliss has been involved in corporate and entrepreneurial finance since 1987, with industry experience that includes time at Touche Ross & Company in New York as a consultant, and senior financial positions at Van Camp Seafood Company and Safety One, Inc., a specialty chemicals start-up. Most recently, Dr. Bliss is a member of the Babson team helping to develop and deliver the curriculum for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program, a US$500 million initiative designed to create jobs and spur economic activity through greater access to business education, mentors, networks and financial capital. Dr. Bliss holds a Ph.D. in Finance and M.A. in Economics from Indiana University. He has also received his M.B.A. in Finance/Real Estate from Indiana University and graduated with honors from Rutgers University, earning a B.S. degree in Engineering and a B.A. degree in Economics.

Ron Pierantozzi

Ron Pierantozzi · From Business to Core Business
Ron brings a combination of corporate and entrepreneurial experience to his consulting activities. He spent 28 years as a technologist (32 Us Patents), technology manager and Director of New Business development at Air Products, where he led the innovation efforts for the corporation. He has also served as the CEO of a solar materials startup (PPT Research) and continues to be involved in the materials and energy sectors as a board member for Primet Precision Materials and formerly on the board of advisors for STEM, a San Francisco based Energy Company. In his consulting practice, he works with a diversified group of companies to guide them in the development of their innovation capabilities. He has also been a lecturer at the Wharton Business School and is currently a visiting scholar, where he teaches classes in the EMBA program and Executive Education programs for companies that include Siam Cement, BP, DSM and Lincoln Financial. He is also a member of the faculty for the Corporate Entrepreneurial Leadership program and the Danish Technical University. He splits his time between Philadelphia, PA and Phoenix, AZ. Ron holds a BA and Ph.D. in Chemistry. He has also authored 22 papers, most recently in the Sloan Management Review and Harvard Business Review.

Anne Malberg Horsager - nyt

Anne Malberg Horsager holds a Master in Learning and Change Management from the University of Aalborg, a DP in IT from Aarhus University, and a B.Ed., and executive training from CBS and Henley Business School. She is a senior manager with 25 years of experience in leading organizational change, business development, and commercial management. Anne’s experience with entrepreneurship ranges from start-ups, scale-ups, and large corporations, with focus on digitalization and digital learning. Prior to joining DTU, Anne worked four years at CBS as Head of Business Relations and Corporate Partnerships and before that at FMCG, consulting in tech and education. Anne has experience from board positions at start-up companies and has published a book about E-learning.

Randi Hovmann

Randi Hovmann · Communication

Randi Hovmann is Digital Director at Nodes, one of Europe’s leading digital product development agencies, delivering business-critical digital solutions and apps for enterprises. She is a specialist in business consulting in digital development, communication and social media with special emphasis on user experience, providing 360-degree digital consulting. Before that, she filled the position as Digital Director at Operate, a digital communications and behavioural agency for four years, coming from a position as Head of Creative Technology at Advice A/S. Areas of expertise include digital strategy, UX (user experience), SoMe (especially Facebook and LinkedIn) as well as customer journeys, service design, and business cases. Randi works with client senior management in large and private companies, providing a variety of solutions, from strategic consulting assignments to redesigning apps and corporate websites to intranets and mobile solutions. Among clients are VELUX, Digitaliseringsstyrelsen, Forsikring & Pension and Nationalbanken. Randi has a background as Cand.Comm in Communications and Danish from Roskilde University. Also, she is a member of the Censor Corps at Roskilde University in the education Communications and Journalism, as well as instructor in the Masterclass "Behavioural Change in Practice" offered by Altinget and Operate, and Moderator at debates at Folkemoedet.
